Being a full time civilian maintainer at CFB Trenton, I have witnessed many military friends come and go.
Billy will always remain in my memory, as being a ray of sunshine and forever having a smile on his face.
He will be missed. My deepest condolences.

I am so saddened to hear of Billy’s passing (or Willy pop as we lovingly called him in 1 Svc Bn). I met Bill many years ago when he was first posted to our Bn. We did many exercises and even got in a little trouble together. I remember one night while having been in the Bush for many weeks, we all wanted to go in on base for a drink. Well, we “acquired” an army truck and about a dozen of us proceeded to make our way in for a good time, unbeknownst to our CSM. After partaking in many “refreshments”, we all poured ourselves back in the rear of a large Troop Carrying Vehicle (TCV) as it was known, and headed back out into the bush (and yes, we had a DD). Billy decided to have some fun and took a run at me while wrestling. He missed and toppled over, and rolled on the floor all the way to the front of the truck. He got up, and we all laughed our asses off. That was a night I’ll never forget.
Rest In Peace Willy Pop…until we meet again brother.

I worked with Billy at Refuelling in Trenton. Even thou he was not fond of Refuelling and couldn’t wait to get back to GPV. He was always laughing and in good spirits. We would kid him about his height and call him Johnson instead of Jefferson to get him going and he would always correct us and he would laugh about it with us. He will be missed.

Everyone in the forces respected and admired Billy’s talents as a driver. He trained so many and was always willing to help out. Such a great loss. He was a sweet man and I miss working with him. Reading back on our conversations now, he was so happy to be back home again. Rest In Peace, friend. Sending love to all of his many friends and family.

I had the pleasure to work with Billy in Trenton Ontario. He was a book of knowledge and was great at training members on vehicles. His kind personality, and smile and laugh will be missed by many. Prayers to his family back in Cape Breton.
