Obituary of Krista Elizabeth Ivey

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Krista Elizabeth Ivey (Giannoukakis), age 27 of Dartmouth, announce her passing on July 1st, 2018 at the Dartmouth General Hospital. Born in Halifax, she was the daughter of Darlene Staples (Jeff) and John Giannoukakis. Krista played many sports throughout her life, especially enjoying ringette as a goalie. She spent a few years in Fort McMurray, Alberta, where she met her future husband. Krista had so much compassion for people, children, and animals; so much so that she was remembered by all whom she met in life. Beside her parents, Krista is survived by her husband Dustin of 1 year, stepson Isaiah, stepdaughter Shelby, daughters Aurora and Sophia, half brother Kenny (Tiffany) Sutherland, brother in law Cody, half sister Merissa Gerrior, sister in law Tailyr, as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. Krista was predeceased by her maternal grandparents George and Mary Staples, as well as an uncle Bernie. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists (902-835-4212), with a celebration of life to be held at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the IWK Neonatal Unit. The family would like to extend a special thanks to all of the doctors and nurses at the Dartmouth General Hospital for their care and compassion throughout Krista’s illness.
