Remembering Dad
A man nick named Solly
AKA Bob or Bobbie
Even called Poppy
Long time friends from childhood to adult
Loved to plot prank full tricks
Playful life adventures with many sips
Beers and cocktails
Even an odd formulated mock tail
Many friends circle a friendship tree
Always played adventurously
Lines with hooks, balls and pucks
Sports watching,
Traveling to, or home viewing
On occasion physical playing
Vegas trips, Florida dips,
Welcomed spontaneity
Each a rooted memory
Hang as leaves from branches
On a grandiose friendship tree
Weekends mattered, as friends gathered
With cheer - music, wine, liquor or beer
Sips and songs played on, and on, and on...
Records circled as tunes burbled
From inside a wooden shaped box
With a turntable top
Sips gurgled into early morning hours
Music playing louder and louder
Inviting dancing
Solly’s tapping toes, two feet showed
His L♥️VE for grooving
To a familiar tune wrapped up
with a grin, friends gathering
By day, a tradesman played glass cutting
At night, husband and father supporting
A wife with two children drawing a family life
Love, support and care sharing
Family vacations; Wasaga and Florida
Destined locations,
All aboard a dark brown Ford LTD
Life as a family connecting, traveling
Amusement and delight Solly spoke
Of adventures with friends
Through story telling
Sharing times of mischievous play
Each expression of a story mentioned
Grew in different directions, sizeable dimensions
With a grin and laugh he cherished many
friendship happenings
Fond memories with heart
Combine life trilogies
Each with a unique succession
of life living
A smiling grin, a cheerful brim
Remembering
A man with spirit for a life lived
adventure seeking.
Honouring Solly, aka Bob, Bobbie
Even Poppy
With whatever is dear to heart
Fondly Remembering ♥️
Raise a glass, story tell a fact
From imprinted memories
Life lives within friends and family
A dedication
Quintessential sips of poetic storytelling
For Solly, aka Bob, Bobbie,
Even Poppy
Dad, lived life courageously
With Love, Denise
