Obituary of Greg MacIsaac

Please share a memory of Greg to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Age 75 of Port Hawkesbury, August 17, 1945, died peacefully with his children at his side on May 26, 2021. Greg is the oldest child of Patrick and Catherine (nee.MacMaster) MacIsaac deceased of Sydney Forks. As a young man Greg enjoyed hunting, fishing, swimming in Blacketts Lake and summers on the Mira. Greg and his late wife Linda spent their lives working and raising their children in Port Hawkesbury amongst lifetime friends. Greg’s greatest pride was his family, he enjoyed nothing more than telling tales of his children and then grandchildren. As a father and grandfather, he was ever present in his family’s lives and brought a warmth to the people in his life. Greg’s gift for gab, meant a trip to Sobeys could last hours as he knew the families of the Strait Area people and loved to stay connected with them. In his life, Greg worked on the family farm, Sydney Steel Mill coke ovens, social worker, MLA for Richmond County, teacher, and lawyer. Greg had a lifelong passion for cars/races, motorcycles, boats, and the great outdoors which included scuba diving, boating, water skiing and camping. Never one for idle time, he could always be found fixing a car or something around the house. Greg is survived by his son, Paul (Tracy); daughters, Constance (Oliver) and Melinda; grandchildren, Justice Belyea and Pauline Henninger; brothers, Duncan (Maureen), John Hugh (Caroline) and Pat (Debbie); twin sister Anne (John Taylor) sisters Mary Florence, Allene Glenda, and Catherine.
