Obituary of Joyce Poulton

Please share a memory of Joyce to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Joyce was born on September 20, 1941 and till May 26, 2021 she brightened the world for so many people. For her husband Chuck of almost sixty years, she was the love of his life, and a true and faithful friend. Her passions in life were family, friends, kids, cards, history, wine and of course travelling. Her desire was to see every country in the world. We recently booked a cruise to Iceland and trip to Dubai and Abu Dhabi. She always wanted one to look forward to. In her love of young children, she spent more than a quarter century as a Sunday School teacher and Superintendent, as well as being a 2nd mom to lots of her kid’s friends. Joyce’s desire to attend university, was finally realized at the age of 57 when she received her degree in Bachelor of Business Administration. She enjoyed our family dinners every Sunday and the card playing, and she sure enjoyed the competition. She loved entertaining and always said “it is just as easy to make dinner for 8 or 14 as it is for 2”. A born leader, she loved organizing events and gatherings. She was able to stay in close contact with many friends and family during the last year through social media, family zoom calls every Tuesday night, Words with Friends, Facebook and messenger. We will all miss her so much, but we are so grateful for the time we spent together with this wonderful lady. Survived by sons, Rick (Lorie), Brian (Tanya); daughter, Linda (Kevin); grandchildren Emily, Alex, Megan, Melissa, and James; great granddaughters, Charlotte and Madison; sister, Ann; brothers, David (Nancy), and Bob (Heather). Predeceased by her mom Margaret and father Michael. Arrangements have been entrusted to T. J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 71 McQuade lake crescent, Halifax.
