On behalf of myself and my sisters and brother, our deepest condolences to you Sharon and your son Colin and all of your family and Gillis Families. Mrs. Flood was a true lady in every sense of the word. She was an excellent teacher, principal and friend to all of her students and staff at “Our Dear Old Portage School”- l think your Mom wrote that song, I know she played it! Without her there wouldn’t have been any school song, annual Christmas concerts, day trips, music performed by her or any of the fun stuff that we all had the pleasure of in our elementary school. I am not sure how she tolerated all those mornings when we would stuff her bell with paper before class (somehow we thought we would not have to sing if the bell wouldn’t ring). I shall always remember her greeting us every morning, rain or shine, always smiling. She always made it a pleasure to attend school. I know you have lots of wonderful memories Sharon of your Mom but we were all truly blessed to have her as our first principal, teacher and friend. We are thinking of you all at this sad time, our deepest sympathies, Ellen Edwards
