To all our extended family, God bless Gerard. JC threw-away the mold after he created him. Gerard and the writer became buddies at St. Anne's High where we both represented our school in competitive sports - especially varsity Basketball where we had the distinction of playing Xavier Junior - College and tying them. There was no overtime tie-breakers in the mid 1950s. Gerard, who married my sister, Mary and the writer maintained contact for the next 70 + years. Rest in peace my old buddy. I am sure Mary is anxiously awaiting your arrival in Paradise with her lengthy "To Do" list. Your ever-loving Bro-in-law, Xavier McGillivary, Ottawa

I am saddened to hear of Gerard's passing. Gerard and Mary were my god parents. The last time I saw Gerard was when he came to say hi to my mom on Chapel Hill, when we were selling and closing her house about 5 years ago. One thing that I will always remember about Gerard was during my high school graduation and prom, he stepped in to have my first dance with him during my dad's absence. He was a lovely man. I was saddened to hear about Gerard's passing. Although we were cousins, we didn't get to see each other very much in later years, but whenever we did meet up, it was such a pleasure. We were so sorry to hear of Gerard's passing, he was a true gentleman. I had the pleasure of working with Gerard at Marshall’s years ago. He was a very good friend of my sister Kay Wilson. In later years we got the pleasure of having Gerard as friends again at the Reserve Mines Pensioners. He enjoyed the many activities at our club. Always pleasant and courteous to everyone.
