Over 40 years ago Stacey's Country Jamboree put on a concert at the old Miner's Forum. The Forum was packed to capacity. Davey wanted to sing and our band was asked to play for him. Myself, Jimmy Billard, Roddy MacNeil and Doug Jessome played for him while he sing his rock and roll version of "When the Saints go Marching in". It was one of the high points in the concert.
Rest in Peace Davey (Mr. Glace Bay) Proctor.

My thoughts and prayers go out to all Dave's family, He was a great guy and will be sadly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him, I am 80 years old and was born in Glace Bay but now in Ontario, I remember seeing him at the Park St. dance, he loved to dance and sure could make his feet move for the song called WHIPE OUT. I spoke to him a few times when i went down home on holidays to see my relatives , he was always very friendly. R.I.P. Dave. Annette [Detcheverry] White

We are so sorry to hear of Davie's passing. He was a great friend to our family. There was never an occasion that he did not give to us whether it be a birthday,
anniversary
graduation or Christmas. If he was not able to come to the house with the gift he always called Butch to come pick it up.He never called me by my name. Each time he spoke to Butch he always asked "and how is the boss today?"I got a great kick out of that!He was always there to lend a helping hand no matter the time or place. And who can forget that wonderful laugh of his? That was unique for sure.He was such a giving person and asked for nothing in return. He enjoyed giving and was a prime example of a kind and thoughtful person. He was so lucky to have a family who took such great care of him.May all the memories you have of your time together
help you through this difficult time.
