Doctor Piano posted a condolence
Wednesday, January 27, 2021
Everyone at Doctor Piano were truly saddened to learn of Cyril’s passing. We extend our most sincere condolences to Kay and family.
We got to know Cyril well in the early eighties. Cyril, his boom truck and great humour were always at the ready to help us put pianos in upper level windows, on balconies and over rooftops.
He was also indispensable to us when it came to getting miserable and unusual tasks done on various construction projects that we probably shouldn’t have been involved in but, he always found a way to help us make it come to pass without making us feel too stupid.
We will certainly miss Cyril’s frequent visits to Doctor Piano, his stories from days of old, a few jigs and reels on our pianos and of course, Danny Boy.
Gary, Paul, Yvon and our entire crew

Cyril had a kind and gentle soul. I saw him often over the years. As a singer myself, he would come to see us play at O'Carroll's, The Old Triangle or The Fife and Drum and we'd get him up on stage to have him gift us with a song or two. I would also see him at our Cape Breton Charitable Association of Halifax dances and various concerts and festivals around Cape Breton. Of course, I would run into him in St Peters from time to time. To Kay, I wish to extend our deepest condolences to you and the rest of your extended family from my wife, Janet, and I. He was one of a kind. R.I.P. dear friend.

Kay, I was shocked and saddened to learn of Cyril’s passing. With the covid restrictions, it seems like years that I have seen you both. It was always so much fun to sing with Cyril at the Frankie’s Club sessions. He was a true gentleman, a proud Cape Bretoner, with “great pipes”. Kay, please know that I am praying for the repose of Cyril’s soul and for your consolation and peace of mind. God bless you. Alan

Dear Kaye
We were so sad to hear the passing of Cyril, he was an amazing man, and you were an amazing couple. Jeff, Jon and I have very happy memories of the time we were able to spend with you both. Cyril was so gracious to pick is up and be our tour guide on our first trip to Halifax. He was so generous with his time. How we loved his stories, Jon was able to hear about his grandparents, and I was able to know a little bit about mine as well.
Oh, Kaye, Jon said he has never had a better seafood casserole than the night you and Cyrl invited us for dinner, he sends his love and hugs.
Please accept our deepest condolences on your loss. We will keep you inour prayers.
