Obituary of Zalina Hook

Age 77, Hammonds Plains, passed away peacefully in the early evening of October 10th at her residence in Hammonds Plains. Born in San Fernando, Trinidad, West Indies she came to Canada at a young age to train as a hairstylist. Former owner of Zanzibar Hair styling Bayers Rd Shopping Centre. She was a hairstylist for 55 years and a mentor to many stylists over the years. She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Brian; brother, Rahim of North York, Ontario; sister in law, Mary Mohammed of Halifax; numerous nieces and nephews across the country. She will be missed by many of her customers, and fellow hairstylists who she touched with her kindness and compassion. Arrangements have been entrusted to T.J.
