Obituary of Fred Hillier

Frederick Charles Hillier July 26, 1937-October 1, 2020 With sadness we announce that Fred suddenly passed away on October 1, 2020 at his home in George’s River, NS. Fred was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in the North Sydney congregation. He died at the age of 83 leaving behind his wife Phyllis (Mac Neil); children Derrick (Sandra),Kimberley (Luc),Tara and Darren; grandchildren Justin, Kyle, Logan, and two step-grand-daughters, Natalie and Kim; sister Joyce; brothers Robert (Gertrude) and Warren (Judy). Fred was predeceased by his daughter Kathy and great-grandson Ty. He worked at Marine Atlantic for over 30 years. Fred loved being busy. After retirement he worked in the camps in Alberta for many years and he loved visiting Newfoundland. Fred was also known for his love of horses, hunting, cooking and sausage making. He will be missed for his abundant generosity and sense of humour. Arrangements have been entrusted to T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve St. Glace Bay. (902)849-4199.
