Painting, Barbara Ann “Barbie” Age 60, of Goodwood. It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of Barbara, “Barbie” Painting on Tuesday, May 12, 2020 at the QEII Hospital, Halifax Infirmary Site. Born in Halifax on June 14, 1960, Barbie was a kind, generous loving wife, mother and friend to all. Barbie was the youngest female, born number 11 in a family of 13 to the late Fred & Minerva Hopkinson. Barbie loved Bingos and playing cards with all her special friends (& you know who you are). Barbie worked for many years at Glades Nursing Home which later became White Hills. Barbie was a hard, dedicated worker who always got the job done. Always with a smile on her face, a joke to be told and living and loving to sing, Barbie will forever live on in the memories of all who knew her. Survived by her husband, William (Willie) of 36 years; sons, Shawn and Brandon, at home. Also survived by sisters, Laura (Jerry) Power, Lr. Sackville; Shirley (David) Chinn, Tantallon; Bernadette Forgeron, Louisdale; Rosemarie Doirion, Halifax; Brothers, Harold (Donna) Hopkinson, Brookside; David (Vicki) Hopkinson, Terence Bay; Darrell (Gail) Hopkinson, Halifax and many, much-loved nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Barbie was predeceased by sister Beatrice Cheverie, brothers, Carl Hatcher, George, Fred (Jr.), and Raymond Hopkinson. Heaven is a beautiful place because they now have you!
