Dear Linda and family: I was saddened to hear of your son Derricks passing. You were the first person to help with my orientation at the VG so many years ago and I have such fond memories of you. Our paths have not crossed again after 1980 but I have watched you from afar. I am thinking of you at this very sad time. My condolences to you and your family. Donna Stevens Pyne

Dear Linda and Family...I have thought about you so many times over the years. My sister Kim and I worked with you at the VG many years ago. We truly admired and loved you. You and Nelson were dating. You were singing in a band. You were also pregnant with Tina. What happy times they were. Donna, another coworker, forwarded me this Obituary. I also have a daughter born in 1982...Jessica Kim. I have been married and living in the US since 1978. I just wanted you to know that I am so sorry for your loss and pray you are finding the strength to heal. God works in mysterious ways but he has a plan for each of us. Your son will be in Heaven with my sister Kim and I bet they have already met and are sharing their love of music...and family. Please know I have never forgotten you. You, Nelson, and your entire family are in my prayers. Take care. With much love, Wendy MacEachern-Dressendorfer.

I was very saddened to learn of Derrick’s passing. He touched me so much with his contribution to the Models for Mental Health fundraiser (including his suave look on the runway). To Linda and Nelson..my sincere condolences to you and your family. I was very fond of Derrick when I was still working with him on 3C. (Retired Dec 31/17). To me Derrick was the rainbow after the rain. Derrick of course was very protected by the “female club” on 3C. We even had some flirt moments with him. ❤️. His presence was an unbreakable bond that he shared with many of us. His vocals, when he wanted to be heard, and the smiles he shared with us, will be forever branded on my heart for sure. Thank you for sharing your beloved son. May your love and vivid memories of Derrick sustain you in your grief. I’m sure God has special plans for Derrick namely to look after his Mom and Dad until you meet again. Take good care Linda and Nelson.
Forever in my thoughts.....

On behalf of the Ministerial Team, the Diaconate Ministry and the entire Church family at the East Preston United Baptist Church, we would like to extend our most sincere condolences to you on the passing of your loved one, Bro. Derrick Aaron Carvery. Losing a loved one is never easy, and we are here to offer our love and support through this difficult time. Although it hurts us that are left behind, take comfort in knowing that by faith we believe that Derrick is now safe in the arms of Jesus.
We trust that these words found in the book of 1st Corinthians 15:55-57 will comfort you and lift you up. “O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting? “For sin is the sting that results in death, and the law gives sin its power. But thank God! He gives us victory over sin and death through our Lord Jesus Christ. AMEN!
Know that the prayer of our Church family is that the Lord will continue to show you His tender mercies, strength and peace in the days and months ahead. May He also surround you with the love and comfort of family and friends and grant you peace. May the Lord continue to Bless You All!
