It is with heavy hearts that we the family announce the passing of Pearl Moulaison on Friday, April 17, 2020 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Born in Glace Bay, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Lillian (Naylor) Carabin.
In 1955, Pearl moved to Boston, MA where she worked at a nursing home then was part owner of a restaurant in Burlington, MA. In 1975, she moved back to Glace Bay working at the Miners Village Restaurant, as well as at the Town House as a homemaker. She was then owner of Chippers Restaurant until her retirement. Pearl enjoyed travelling to Boston every summer to spend time with her son and his family; loved taking her great grandchildren for rides on her scooter.
Pearl is survived by her son, Robert (Marilyn) Moulaison; daughter, Valerie Peterson (Charles); two sisters, Vicky Wadden, Helen Nicholson; her precious grandchildren, Robert (Kristen), Steven (Ashley), Ashley (Brad), Skyler(Ashley); her pride and joy, her great grandchildren, Jordyn, Brooklyn, Benjamin, Jaxson and Rylee; special niece Lavinia (Hubba) Brewer as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by brothers Melvin ‘Buddy’ and Lloyd Carabin, sisters, Joyce (Gilbert) Boutilier and Elise Magnusson; brothers-in-law, Murray Wadden and Donald ‘Nick’ Nicholson.
A special thank you to the doctors and nurses on floor 4D at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Judy Snow, Cape Breton Handi Trans, and the Glace Bay Adult Day Program.
Cremation has taken place. A visitation will be held Tuesday, September 28, 2021 from 12-2 p.m. with a service to follow at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Myrna MacMullin officiating all taking place at T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay, NS. (902-849-4199). Burial to take place in Greenwood Cemetery, Glace Bay.
