Obituary of Valerie Marie Parsons

Valerie Marie (Jessome) Parsons of Duncans Cove passed away peacefully on March 17th, 2020 surrounded by family after a two-year battle with ovarian cancer. Val was born in Sydney Mines to Ambrose (aka Brozie) and Theresa (Leblanc) of Florence, NS. She led a happy, healthy life. Her family was her number one priority and friends were not far behind. Always making sure everyone felt included, leave no one out! Val often said, “Life is Good.” On her list of fun things to do was exploring Nova Scotia with Mike, kayaking, cycling and spending time at the beach. Val is survived by Mike, her husband of 39 years; stepson Robert (Karen), Portuguese Cove, NS; son Steven (Cindy German, grandson Michael Ambrose), Kingston, NS; daughter Veronica (Michael Burt, grandchild due in May), Halifax, NS; Parsons clan: Ann Parsons (mother-in-law); Kenneth (Mary Lou); Donald (Sandy, deceased) ; Mark (Shelley); Karin (Steve); Christopher (Karen) Petursson; Randy (Kathy) Saulinier; Bernard Harvey; Virginia Tessitore (Ron); Pam Parsons; Jessome clan: Gladys (Clifford) Davis; Judith (Jakey) Buffett; Stephanie (Fred) Cuffe; Ambrose Jessome; Gregory (Lisa) Jessome. Val was predeceased by her parents; sister Marjorie; a brother in infancy; brother-in-law Peter; nephew Michael Davis; mother-in-law Colette Parsons; father-in-law Bruce R.P. Parsons.
