Obituary of Albert Joseph Centa

Please share a memory of Albert to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Albert ‘Bardo’ Centa Dominion It is with the heaviest of hearts that we, the family of Albert Joseph Centa announce his peaceful passing on Sunday, February 9th, 2020. Bardo, as he was fondly known to family and friends, was 84 years old. Born in Dominion, NS, to Bortolo and Maria Centa, Albert remained a lifelong resident of Dominion where he helped run the family store. From a young age Albert had a very strong faith, living his life to serve God. He was a man with a quiet disposition and a huge heart. An avid reader and an engaging storyteller, Albert loved to gather with family and friends and share stories, often with some fresh made bread that he had just taken out of the oven. Albert also had a natural talent for gardening and so enjoyed the time he spent outdoors. He made the world a prettier place with his well-placed flowers, plants, and trees. In addition to his parents, Albert was predeceased by his brother Bruno, his step-brother Gab, and his brother-in-law Bob Marcil. Albert will be lovingly remembered by his sister Joanne Centa Marcil, with whom he resided for most of his life. His nephew Robert (Leanne) Marcil and niece Lisa (Wayne) Brewster grew up with Bardo at home and came to know him in the role of father. In turn, their children, Taylor and Ryan Marcil, and Sarah, Anthony, and Matthew Brewster were blessed to know him as a grandfather and cherish the time they spent with him. Albert will also be fondly remembered by his sister-in-law Ronalda Centa, nieces Kelly (Alan) Grossert and Gina (Bill) Kennedy, grand-nephews Tyler and Mitchel Kennedy, and grand-niece Lauren Grossert. We invite the community to join with us to celebrate Albert’s life through a Memorial Mass taking place on Thursday, February 13th, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church in Dominion. Following the service, a reception will be held in the church hall. Donations in memory of Albert may be made to the local St. Vincent de Paul Society and condolences sent along to the family through www.tjtracey.com. Forever, the sight of a beautiful flower or the smell of fresh-made bread will bring to mind fond memories of you, Bardo. You were, indeed, well-loved. Rest easy.
