Sincere condolences to all of the Centa family. Barto, this is Norma{Nicoletti} Cooke offering my gift of prayers and always fond memories. I can close my eyes and see your business like presence each and every time I entered your store. You always had a book nearby , so your reading and life experience showed a man of great intelligence. You always gave me time to chat which I really appreciated. I'm so happy you were able to share your stories with family young and old, as memories are so important. I remember being able to tell the time as I looked out our window to seeing you jaunt to church, a stride I could never keep up. You were never hesitant to offer your opinion, but did so with caring and respect. Your deep unwavering faith will ensure you rest in peace .

Deepest condolences, thoughts and prayers to his loved ones during this time. Bardo was a huge part of our little Italian community, he was so visible, walked all the time.always smiling...and as a child I can remember the gardens, as an adult as I drive by the home I would admire the beautiful gardens & colours that surrounded it. Dear Joanne, Lisa, Robert and family, I was saddened to hear the news of Bardo's passing. Instantly my childhood memories came racing back. Bardo was a man of great faith, morals and values. In today's society more role models like Bardo are needed. I grew up close with Lisa and Robert and experienced his ability to be that role model first hand. At times we may have stepped over the line and Bardo would reign us in with unconditional love and discipline. As a parent today, I am grateful for that. My Mom also had great respect for Bardo. I always got "what Bardo says goes" from her. Bardo is now at rest in the kingdom he worshiped and demonstrated to all of us that without Faith in God, you have nothing. Sending my thoughts and prayers to all of the family at this difficult time.

Our deepest sympathy to all of Bardo's family.I will always remember hanging around the store and chatting with Bardo . Sometimes we would play a board game he invented . I felt so important thinking I was the guy to whom he was introducing his new invention. As well I fondly remember playing baseball in Joe Canova,s field . Bardo was always the pitcher .He always correct me whenever let out a few expletives when I struck out . Rest in peace Bardo . Emilio and Marie Vaninetti

Living next door to Bardo, we will always remember him out working the gardens and feeding the birds. There was always an abundance of color and a variety of birds around. There were many times when his back yard was used for photography sessions with our family, weddings, graduations or just enjoying the flowers he planted. We all feel as though we lost a member of our own family because that is what Bardo and his family are to us,,not just a neighbor but a part of our family.
Some memories to share:
The children loved going to Bardo's on Halloween as he would have a certain number in mind and give a prize to the person that was the lucky number.
The many times we heard him sing "living next door to Alice"
Mom loved listening to him whistle while he worked in the yard.
He will be missed and always remembered by our family.
Love and prayers to you all, we know that the Lord will carry Bardo's family through this sad time .
We love you
Molly Moffatt and family.

Bardo used to walk down Henry St almost everyday and we always exchanged hellos even though I didn’t know him personally. I remember playing hockey as a teenager on a pond in Mitchell Ave and Bardo showed up with his skates and stick. We offered him to join our game and honestly we thought “who’s taking on the old man” as teenagers would see it. Man, he skates circles around us on that pond , we could not catch him when he had the puck! It was brilliant. It was a side of the quiet man we didn’t know but us kids loved it! Neil Colosimo
