Obituary of Jane Stephenson

Jane Stephenson Dominion It is with broken hearts, we announce the passing of Jane on January 30, 2020, at her home with her family by her side. Jane was the daughter of Francis and Marguerite Stephenson. Jane was a graduate of St. F.X. University where she obtained a B.A. and B. Ed. She spent all of her Teaching Career with the Catholic School Board in Brampton, Ontario. She was so happy to retire to her family home in Cape Breton. Jane also enjoyed many years travelling South with her sister Anne. One of Jane’s greatest joys was going for long walks on the beach or just sitting and drinking her coffee while looking out at the ocean. Jane is survived by her mother Marguerite, Sisters; Mary Lou (Gene) Hickey, Linda (Wayne) Poirier, and Anne Stephenson. Nephew’s; David, Mark ( Lainey ), Derek and Brent, as well as several Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and many lifelong friends. She was predeceased by her father Francis. We would like to say Thank You, to all of the Medical Staff who so compassionately guided Jane through her illness. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 4, 2020 from 1-3 p.m. with Funeral Service to follow at 3 p.m., all to take place at T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay.
