Our sincere condolences to Aunt Hanna (Mom) and Aunt Annie in the loss of your dear brother, Max and to all members of the Kimm and Dean Extended families. Max meant so much to each of you and also to us. We have many childhood memories of Uncle Max.
As a hunter, Uncle Max seasonally hunted venison and snared rabbits during our childhood. He shared the success of his hunt with his family members and friends. We were taught how to hold the rabbits to skin, clean, and then eat when they were cooked. Uncle Max played the game of horse shoes outdoors with us. Keeping us busy, he artfully played the game of checkers but always won. This taught us the importance of fellowship and good sportsmanship.
Uncle Max had the knowledge and skills for farming, mechanics for repairing his vehicles, and including the technical skills to build a log cabin for his homestead. He built his own sawmill, cut down his property trees and prepared the logs.
He gave selflessly of himself as a Caregiver to both of his aging parents during each of their lifetimes. This trait of self-sacrifice is, indeed, a rare quality. He was rewarded and received the same caring from "Caregivers-Dan and Judy". Together, Uncle Max was well taken care of, afforded the opportunity of a final fishing outing, and was able to retain his dignity until the end of his life. Danny, Aaron, Terry, Dan and Judy, and other family members rotated visits to Uncle Max. They brought his favourite "homemade goodies", and fish to taste. Danny took photos, made local and long distance calls, and sent the photos to all family members so that they were able to have a conversation with him and to see how his health was progressing. This was comforting.
These biblical passages come to mind: Matthew 5:4 "Blessed are those who mourn for they shall be comforted.", Psalm 23: "The Lord is my Shepherd", and Psalm 121 "I will lift up mine eyes to the hills - From whence comes my help? …
We shall miss him and he will not be forgotten. Rest in Peace Uncle Max.
Niece Margaret, and Nephew George McLean (wife Carolyn), Ottawa
Dan and Judy Dean, Birch Grove, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia

Condolences to the Kimm family for the loss of Max. He could often be found around the Morien Sandbar, always with his black lab, waiting patiently to fetch a goose. Sincere sympathy.

My sincere condolences to all members of the Kimm and Dean family in the loss of your dear Max, a brother, uncle, and friend to many. It was a pleasure meeting Max in the summer of 2010. I was invited to participate in one of Dan and Max's fishing expeditions. What a beautiful and memorable experience for a Westerner!
May you have many hunting and fishing days in the big woods and in the big waters of Paradise. Happy Hunting and Fishing, my friend.
