Obituary of Karen Margaret Fidgen

Karen Margaret Fidgen, age 75, of Mount Uniacke, N.S. passed away peacefully at home on December 28, 2019. Karen was born in Sydney, N.S. She was the daughter of the late Charles (Curly) Doucette and Margaret (LeBlanc) of Matilda Street, Whitney Pier. Karen graduated from St. Francis Xavier University and became a dedicated elementary school teacher in the Dartmouth school system for over 30 years. She is survived by step sons: Jeff (Janet) and Kevin (Sue), step grandchildren: Cole, Kendell, Zachary, Caleb, Julia, Jennifer, and Sarah, nieces: Shirlene and Deanne, nephews: Paul, Greg, and their families. Karen will be especially missed by her best friend of 70 years, Dianne Doyle and children: Carolee, David, Kelly, Karen, and their families. Karen was a devoted godmother to David Doyle and Blake Chassé. Karen was predeceased by husband George, brother Ken (Shirley). A special thank you to Ron and Mary Lee, Joan and Jean Paul Dexter for their kindness. Karen loved all animals and cherished her dog, April. A funeral mass will be held at Saint Ignatius church, 1288 Bedford Highway, Monday, January 6, 2020 at 10:30 a.m. Reception to follow in church hall. Donations may be made to charity of choice.
