1st. met Robert at his mother's store on Wallace's Rd. when i hung around there as a teenager. He was a great teacher of life to us kids even out of the school room. living in Halifax since 1975 i still had the chance to talk and joke with him when he came to the teacher's bowling tournaments as i worked at the Bowlarama . He was always a pleasure to talk to and we always talked about the old days hanging around "Effie's"store.he will be one of the best memories in my life and sorely missed.God bless you Robert,may you rest in peace.-Kevin McNeil.

Our deepest sympathies to the family. Robert was an integral part of our school days, both as teacher and hockey coach, and was a kind and caring principal to our children. We have many fond memories. Fraser recalls his first “road trip” off Cape Breton to Halifax with the Central School hockey team under Coach MacIsaac...how exciting for Grade 7 and 8 boys at the time! A couple of the team’s supporters even hitchhiked to Halifax to watch the games! Can you imagine 13/14 year olds hitchhiking anywhere these days?? Robert was a tireless and fervent supporter of his church, a friend to many, and will be missed in his community. Rest In Peace, Robert.
