Obituary of David A. Grace
Please share a memory of David to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with great sadness that the family of David Allan Grace announces his unexpected passing at the Halifax Infirmary on September 29, 2018, at the age of 74.
Born in Halifax, he was the second youngest son of the late Thomas Grace and Eva Stewart (Grace).
Devoted husband, father, and Grandfather, Dave was also known over the years as a local business owner and real estate agent. He was a pillar in the community and spent much of his life giving back to the community he grew up in: chairing the Sackville Civic Status Review Committee, serving on the Sackville-Beaver Bank Advisory Board and the Sackville Winter Carnival Executive, spending time as a Scouting Leader, as Comissioner for the N.S. Boxing Commission, as President of the Sackville Chamber of Commerce and member of the Kinsmen & K-40. Dave was generous with his time and was always willing to help. He was loving, dependable, kind, generous, genuine and respectful – he was his family’s light and their rock.
Dave is survived by his wife of 37 years, Sue Grace; children, Shelley Farouse (Andy), Danny Grace (Kelly), Angela Grace-Patterson (Bruce), Danielle MacKenzie (Jason), Michelle Donaldson (Dave), Scott Grace (Kelly); Sister Betty Donovan (Norman); brothers Bill (Beverley), Gordon (Shirley), Kenny (Joyce), Fred (Catherine), Doug (Nancy); and grandchildren, Alannah, Morgan, Tiffaney, Bruce, Liam, Paige, Rylan, Connor, Wyatt, Emmett, Grayson and Emily.
Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, Bedford. (902-835-4212).
A service will be held on Friday, October 5, at 1:00 pm at the Sackville Legion, 45 Sackville Cross Road, Lower Sackville, with reception to follow. A private interment will be held at a later date.
Donations in Dave’s memory can be made to the Lung Association of Nova Scotia.
