Obituary of Renė Joly

Joseph Andre Renė Joly (affectionately known as Renė), age 64, the son of Albert Joly and Claire Joly (Chapleau) died from cancer at Roseway Hospital on November 11, 2019 surrounded by family and friends.

Renė was raised in Laval (Que.) and spent the last 43 years in Shelburne. He worked as supervisor at Shelburne Mall for 23 years and will be greatly missed. Over the years he also spent time with the 180 Saxon Sea Cadets and the Wilderness 4-H Club; his favorite hobbies were teasing everyone and woodworking, spending many hours in his workshop building things for family and friends.

Renė is survived by his wife, Kathy; his brothers, Benoit (Lise), Yvon (Linda) and Paul (Lynn); his children, Tara (Shaun) and Jerry (Barbara), 7 grandchildren plus 3 he adopted and claimed as his own, and a multitude of nieces and nephews. Renė was predeceased by his father (Albert); mother (Claire), and his brother (Pierrė).

There will be a celebration of his life where his family will be spreading his ashes in May 2020 at which point those from the community will be welcome to attend. More information will be available closer to the date.
