It is with heavy hearts we announce the peaceful passing of Rose Marie McMullin October 17, 2019 at Seaview Manor with her loving family by her side. She was the daughter of the late Lubin and Sophie (Aucoin) Bisson, Cheticamp. She grew up in MacKay’s Corner and lived most of her life in Reserve Mines. She spent her final years at Seaview Manor where she was loved by all.
Rose was a member of St. Joseph’s Parish where she served on parish council, an alter server and was a lecturer. She worked most of her career as a ward clerk at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Glace Bay. Rose enjoyed many happy time in Loch Lomand with family and friends. She was affectionately known as Rosie. She was the happiest when she was taking care of others. Rosie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend, she will be remembered fondly for her great hospitality at their home, where everyone was welcome to drop in at anytime where you would find her quickly preparing a cup of tea or lunch.
Rose is survived by her sons, Robert (Judy), Fort McMurray, Dan (Valerie MacNeil), Glace Bay, daughter, Rose (Tyler) Sehl, Glace Bay, daughter-in-law, Marilyn McMullin, Gardiner Mines; grandchildren, Tanya, Robert, Adam, Andrew, Colin, Mitchel, Chantelle, Ryan, Brandon, Caitlin; her great grandchildren, Michael, Kayleigh, Lexi, Kailey, Jace, Wynter, Avery and Summer ( you would find Summer visiting Granny daily and sharing a snack at the manor). She is also survived by sister-in-law, Joan Bisson and brother in-law, Ed Ingham.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her devoted husband and best friend of 51 years, Danny; son, Lubin; siblings,Dannie (Marie), Melvin, Fr. Cliff, Lubin, Wilfred (Mary), Theresa(Erwin), Betty (Alex), Bernadette, Marg (Ed) and Mary Elsie in infancy.
Visitation will be held Sunday, October 20, 2019 from 3-6 p.m. at T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay, NS. (902-849-4199) Funeral mass will take place 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 21, 2019 at St. Joseph’s Church, Reserve Mines, with Fr. Daniel Boudreau officiating. Burial to follow in St. Joseph’s Church Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society.
