Murphy, Harold Burton, 72, of Halifax, N.S. was peacefully called to his well deserved place in Heaven on April 11, surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Pauline, and two wonderful and caring children, Holly (Mike Doyle) and Jeff (Mati Murphy). He was predeceased by his loving parents, Edgar and Mary Murphy. He had a younger brother, Robert (Ardene) and 4 sisters, Marie, Shirley (Jack MacInnis), Joanne (Allan Singer) and Debra (Harold Clarke). He was predeceased by his two special fur babies, Maggie and Jake. The joy of his life was his 5 grandchildren, Justin, Courtney, Allyson, Dylan and Samantha, and 2 great grandchildren, Charlotte and Ezra. Harold always took a huge interest in their sports and was in attendance at many of their performances. During his professional career, Harold was employed with Canada Packers and Maple Leaf Foods as a successful Sales Manager and won many awards for his outstanding accomplishments. He also operated a Snap On Tools Franchise for several years. Harold was deeply involved with St. Agnes Church in a number of ministries. He was a Senior Altar Server, Minister of the Eucharist, and volunteered at the Bingo games. He served on the St. Vincent de Paul Committee for several years and the Liturgy Committee as well. Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 16 from 6 – 8 pm in St. Agnes Church, Mumford Road. A Celebration of Harold’s wonderful life will be held St. Agnes Church Wednesday, April 17, 10:00 a.m. Reception following. Donations can be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society – St. Agnes Conference, or to Hants Community Hospital, Palliative Care Unit, Windsor NS.
