It is with broken hearts that we the family regret to announce the peaceful passing of our loving wife, mother ‘Ma’, Nan and Grandma Diane Martin, age 76 on September 26,2019, surrounded by her loving family at the Glace Bay Hospital, Glace Bay.

Born in Reserve Mines (The Lorway) on July 28th, 1943, Ma is survived by her loving husband of 56 years Fabian Martin. Children Alex (Joyce) Matheson, Cheryl (Tommy) MacDonald, Michelle (Joey) Nightingale, Arlene Burt, Bradley (Karen) Martin. Grandkids Stephen, Jennifer, Kyle, Faye, Dylan, Michael, Emily, Ethan and five great grandchildren. Grandma will be greatly missed by Lyla and Kayden.

She is also survived by her siblings Christina (Kit) Pastuck, Dan (Brenda) Matheson, Ethel (Elmer) Cameron, Melva (Brian) Reid, Donna (Don) McEllistrum, many nieces and nephews.

Diane is predeceased by her parents Alex and Violet Matheson (Jackson) and many brothers and sisters.

Ma’s greatest passion was taking care of her family to which she devoted all her time and love, especially during our traditional Sunday dinners.

We would like to thank EHS, Dr. McLean and the nursing staff of Glace Bay Hospital for all your care and compassion.

Cremation has taken place.  Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 1, 2019 from 1-2 p.m. with a memorial service to follow at 2 p.m. with Fr. Duaine Devereaux officiating, all taking place at T.J.
