Obituary of Carl E. Graves

It is with sadness that the family of Carl Graves, age 84 of Halifax, announce his passing at Ocean View Manor on October 1st, 2018. Born in Halifax, he was the son of the late Ira and Edith (Laramore) Graves, Carl is survived by his wife Maureen (Shirley); daughters Marilyn of Ontario, Darlene of Middle Sackville and Carol of Dartmouth; sons Carl of Lower Sackville, and Darrell of Spryfield; sisters Marion Bezanson of Dartmouth; and several grand children and great grandchildren, with a special thanks to great-grandson Jonah Mosher for visiting and sitting with Grampy everyday. Carl worked at Hershey (Moirs) for 42 years. He golfed at Ashburn for 42 years, and he also enjoyed skiing, playing hockey, baseball, bowling, fishing, and hunting. Besides his parents, Carl was predeceased by sisters Marion Carty, Dorothy Lesser, and Helen in Infancy; brothers John, Ralph, Donald, Gerald, Wilfred, and Clifford. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of T.J. Tracey Funeral Home, Bedford. (902-835-4212). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 10th at 11 am at Sheffield Baptist Church, 80 Lincoln Cross, Halifax, with reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to the Ocean View Continuing Care Center, or the Dementia Society of N.S.
