Sheldon Joseph Poirier
Camrose, Alberta/formerly of Glace Bay
It is with heavy hearts that we the family announce the passing of Sheldon Joseph Poirier, age 69, at the St. Mary’s Hospital, Camrose, Alberta.
Born in Glace Bay, he was the son of the late Gerald and Lucy Poirier.
Sheldon was a retired coal miner and a licensed mechanic by trade. He was an avid musician, playing many types of instruments and loving country music. He enjoyed carving wood and created beautiful pieces. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 57.
Sheldon is survived by his sons, Joseph (Joleen), Fabian (Crystal); daughter, Brandi (Evelyn); his six grandchildren, Gracie, Hayden, Olivia, Haley, Wyatt and Ryder; brother, Sammy (Cecilia); sisters, Geraldine, Lucille (Allie) and Marie, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 18, 2019 from 10-11 a.m. with a service to follow at 11:00 a.m. with Fr.Norman MacPhee presiding, all taking place at T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay, NS (902-849-4199). Interment to follow in St. Anthony’s Cemetery, Dominion St., Glace Bay.
