Margaret “Margie” Cecilia Corbett, age 76, passed away suddenly at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney on Thursday August 29, 2019 surround by her family.
Margie was the daughter of the late Philip and Anne Wiseman.
A lifelong baseball fan, Margie coached hundreds of young ladies in Dominion in the 70’s and 80’s, she was a star pitcher and 3rd basewoman for the Branch 78 Legionettes. Her favorite baseball adage (whether in coaching, playing or watching the Blue Jays was : “If it hit your glove… you should have had it.”
Margie had many friends in Dominion in Bingo halls, was adored by her many nieces and nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Margie was always honest, tough, smart, determined and loyal. One did not stand in her way, when she saw something that needed to be done; she would go around ( or through if need be ) any obstacle to achieve her goals. A very, very good woman has said goodbye to us all. We were lucky to have had her as long as we did.
She is survived by her loving husband Nick; her children, Nick Jr. (Louise), Wanda, Chris (Nancy) and Sue (Bill); grandchildren, Valerie, Georgia, Meghan, Jacob, Maddi, Gavyn, Lincoln; great grandchildren, Hope, Max, Lucas and Gabby; her sisters Betty Campbell and Phyllis Wiseman; sister by choice Tina MacPherson.
