It is with saddened hearts we announce the passing of Mary Susan Usher, on Thursday, August 29, 2019 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.

 Born November 5, 1919 in Dominion, she was the daughter of the late James and Sarah (MacLean) Usher.

Mary started her career as a teacher at Park Street School and continued most of her teaching career at MacDonald High School in Dominion.  Mary was on the executive board of the Nova Scotia Teachers Union, the board of Family Services of Eastern NS, she was a long time active member of Immaculate Conception Church Property and Finance Committee.  Mary was a woman of great faith and was very involved in her beloved parish.

Mary is survived by her brother, Gerald Usher; sister -in-law, Anne Usher; several nieces and nephews, as well as special friends, Norma MacDonald and Diane O’Neil.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers, Naish and Gregory Usher.

 As per Mary’s wishes there will be no visitation. A funeral mass will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 4, 2019 at Immaculate Conception Church, Bridgeport with Fr. Daniel Boudreau officiating. Interment to take place in Calvary Cemetery, with a reception to follow.
