Stewart Raymond Hamblin (Skip) age 64 of Halifax N.S., born on December 14, 1954, passed away peacefully August 27th, 2019 at the Victoria General hospital in Halifax.
He was the son of the late Joyce and Raymond Hamblin and was raised by his late paternal grandmother Catherine Hamblin.
He was predeceased by his children's mother, Donna Hamblin (MacDonald).
Survived by his partner Suzanne Parsons of 7 years; sons Josh Taylor (Lindsey) and Noah Hamblin; daughter Holly Taylor (Jessie); 1 brother; 3 sisters; 4 grandchildren, Unity Taylor, Elijah Taylor, Isaiah Taylor and Joshua (Chase) Taylor; as well as beloved extended family members and dear friends.
Skip was a dedicated partner to Suzanne, and they spent their time exploring life and new experiences. He always said "We are making memories baby." He was a Pittsburgh Steelers fan, loved Tupac and DMX, loved fishing, was dedicated to the gym, and loved to cook. Skippy had a love for his fur baby Kong who he was inseparable from, and I’m sure they are together again. Skip fought a hard battle of cancer for the last 2 years. He was a fighter and everyone knew it. Skip made an impact on a lot of people and was respected by many. He was a member of the 7 Steps Society and provided his life experiences to many. He was inspired by Becca Schofield’s story of how she battled cancer and he shared her story to everyone. He will be missed by everyone who knew and loved him.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, September 29th, 2019, at T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 71 McQuade Lake Crescent, Bayers Lake, Halifax.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists in Halifax. (902-835-4212).
In lieu of flowers please honor Skippy by performing an act of kindness towards others.
