It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Veronica Elizabeth McIntyre on August 27, 2019 at the New Waterford Consolidated Hospital with her loving family by her side.

Born in New Waterford, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Sarah (Fitzharris) Hogan. Veronica was employed as the dispatcher for Dominion Taxi and Sydco Fuels for many years.  She enjoyed going to Bingo and shopping trips to Bangor, as well as her weekly outings with her daughter Mary for Chinese food.  

Veronica also known as Mama Gaga by her grandchildren, great grandchildren and neighborhood kids was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and  will be always in our hearts.

Veronica is survived by her son, Paul (Paula); daughters, Brenda Horne (Danny), Ann (Clairie); brother, Paul Hogan; sister-in-law, Sylvia Dunn; brothers-in-law, James, Greg, and Arthur; special nephew Allan. She is also survived by her loving grandchildren, Wendy, Cory, Eddie, Danette, Michael T. , Jennifer, Michael S., C.J., Jason and Alexandra; many great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.

 Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Manning McIntyre; daughter, Mary Sparrow, son in infancy; granddaughter, Terrilynn Tomiczek; sister, Annie; brothers, Alphonse, Peter and Joseph.

Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held  11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 31,2019 with Fr. Daniel Boudreau officiating  at T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay, NS (902-849-4199)

Interment to take place at a later date in Forest Haven Memorial Gardens.  Memorial donations in memory of Veronica may be made to the Glace Bay Food Bank.
