Ruth Ann (Jarvis) Coleman, age 63 of Saint John, N.B., went to be with her creator on Tuesday, August 27th 2019, at Hospice Halifax.
Born in Saint John, growing up in the south end of the city she was the daughter of the late Marjorie (Brayley) Jarvis.
The spiritual foundation for her life was as a follower of Jesus. She was involved in the Ignatian community and practiced the spiritual exercises of Saint Ignatius in her daily life. Ruth was an educator and artist. She worked at Early Intervention with families at risk and taught high school at First Steps Saint John. She was passionate about her work and art. She was a metal and jewellery artist graduating from the N.B. College of Craft and Design. She loved people. Her greatest joy was spending time with her 4 children and 6 grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, the Rev. Ed Coleman of 40 years; sons Aaron (Neety Malholtra), and Nathan (Rosy Bajen); daughters Rebecca (Nick Tran), and Deborah (Vincent Mastrovito); grandchildren Shamil, Maya, Zoe, Naomi, Oakland, and Natalia; eleven brothers and sisters in law and their families; as well as many nieces and nephews and a large circle of friends.
Cremation has taken place under the care of T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, Halifax. (902-835-4212)
Visitation will be held Monday, September 2nd, 2019, from 2-8 pm at St. James the Less Church, 1760 Rothesay Road, Rothesay N.B.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 3rd, 2019, at 11 am, also at St. James the Less Church.
An interment will follow in St. Paul’s Anglican Cemetery, 486 Kennebecasis River Road, Hampton, N.B.
