Alice Popwell, 92, of Glace Bay passed away August 22nd at Glace Bay General Hospital.

Born in Glace Bay, she was the daughter of the late George and Blanche (Bradbury) Gardiner.

She was a member of Holy Cross Church.

Alice is survived by her daughter Blanche (Gerry) Tyne; brother George Jr. Gardiner; sister: Irene (Rod) MacLean; grandson Andrew Tyne (Becky Spencer); as well as nieces and nephews Terry (Valerie) Gardiner, Glenn (Sheila) Gardiner, and Nancy (Gary) Condran.

She is predeceased by husband Peter; sister in-law Shirley Gardiner, and Nephew Kenneth Gardiner.

Cremation has taken place and the funeral will be held Monday, August 26th, at 10:00 am in Holy Cross Church 230 Seaview St, Glace Bay with Rev. Norman MacPhee officiating, and interment to follow.
