Obituary of Marcus John Andrew Armstrong
Please share a memory of Marcus to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with great sadness the family of Marcus John Andrew Armstrong, age 34 of Dartmouth, announce his passing on August 12th, 2019 at home.
Born in Halifax, he was the son of William and Shelley (Clark) Armstrong.
Marcus enjoyed his job as a cleaner at Canada Post, was an avid golfer and curler, loved going for walks at Shubie Park, going for drives with his father and sister, as well as a semi annual day trip to Fundy Park with immediate family. Marcus was always there for and spending time with his close knit group of friends whenever he could. He loved his dogs dearly and talked to and about them often.
Beside his parents, Marcus is survived by brother Matthew (Amanda); sister Marianne (Thomas); and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was predeceased by paternal grandmother Jean Armstrong, paternal grandfather Murray Armstrong, maternal grandfather Lawrence Clark, aunt Betsy (Elizabeth) Armstrong, and uncle James (Jimmy) Clark.
A memorial service will be held in September, to be announced at a later date, at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church at 216 School Street, Dartmouth, with the Rev. P. A. MacDonald officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Marcus’s memory can be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Kidney Foundation of Canada.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the doctors and nurses at the Dickson Centre as well as the Victoria General Hospital.
