Kevin Russell MacLean, age 60 of Bedford NS, died August 6th, 2019.
Kevin passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family at the QEII hospital, Halifax.
Kevin was born in New Glasgow on July 6th, 1959 to the late Alvin Bernard MacLean and Laura Maude (Skinner) MacLean.
He retired from a dedicated career at Canada Post in 2015. Kevin was a devoted husband and father who always put family first. He had a thirst for knowledge and an insatiable appetite both for reading and debating. He will be remembered for his strength and his kind heart, his fashionable taste, his love of travel and road trip adventures, gardening in his front yard, singing, and attending sporting events - especially in support of his daughters. Kevin was an athlete himself and specifically soared with hockey, winning several trophies during his youth career before stepping away to focus on his health concerns.
Kevin is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Kelli; his daughters Huntre MacLean and Alexandra MacLean; his sisters Gloria, Halifax; Dianne (Leo), New Glasgow; Marva, Toronto; Lois (Wendell), Dartmouth; Glenda (Eugene), New Glasgow; Rhonda (Larry), Amherstburg, ON; and Janice, Maryland USA; his brothers, Alvin ‘Gardy’, Truro; Gary, Saint John; Reginald (Cathy), Westville; Randolph, Toronto; Sherman, New Glasgow; stepsisters June, Windsor, ON; Patsy, St. Croix, Virgin Islands; and Sally, Windsor, ON; mother-in-law Sharon McCormack, sister-in-law Kimberly, brothers-in-law Trevor, and Roderick, all of New Brunswick, and Glenn, Ottawa, ON; and many cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his mother Maude, his father Alvin, stepsisters Norma Ashe and Betty Durant, and his father-in-law Beaton McCormack.
A celebration of Kevin’s life will take place at Summer Street Industries 72 Park Street, New Glasgow, NS on Saturday August 17th from 1-4 pm lead by Reverend Matthew G. Lucas.
