Nan - I always thought that you would live forever . I know you did too . I will never forget your laugh and the things you would always say "nothin wrong with me ", "I can't wait to get home and make some fish & paste " , "oh my I hope I don't miss the wheel " , "damn sports on tv I bet I won't see the wheel tonight ". And there were many more that I can still hear you say . You left behind so many people that loved you for you and all of the stubbornness that came with. I don't think I've ever met / will meet another woman that was as strong as you. You surprised us all with your strength the last few years ..or stubbornness , maybe a bit of both :)
I remember going to get groceries with you at Sobeys and you would always let me pick out a bag of chips at the check out line. Little did you know , that's the main reason why I would tag along :). You would always let me get some treats .
You always had plants in the house taking care of them and especially loved planting your dalhias. I remember helping you on many occasions. If I didn't do it right or if they were too close, you would always let me know.
I loved tagging along with you , Aunt Rita and Aunt Dort to church most Sundays while growing up. I would sit on the walk and wait for her car to pull up then I would run up to your house and sit around and wait for you guys to have your chats then we would head down to sandy Cove to church.
Bingo nights were especially your favorite for as along as you could get to them. But at the same time when we would get back to Jeanie's , you would run across the field so fast to get back home to have your sandwhich and glass of milk before bed and would tell to me as I walked by your door " yeah goodnight hunnie".
I can still see you now scooting across the field .
You left us with so many memories that we will never forget . My heart is heavy this week but I know you're still with me looking over us watching wheel of fortune .
