It is with saddened hearts that we, the family announce the passing of William ‘Billy Y’ McNeil age 66, of Dominion. Billy passed away at the Regional Hospital, on August 1st, 2019 with his family by his side.

Born in Dominion, he was the son of the late Patrick ‘Y’ and Olive (McIntyre)McNeil.

Billy was a member of St. Eugene’s Church. He was employed in Montreal as a labourer. He was an avid Toronto Maple Leafs and Toronto Blue Jays fan. Billy played ball for many years with the Dominion Hawks and made many friends.

 He will be sadly missed by his loving sisters, Debbie (Wayne)MacNamara, Marsha LaPointe, both of Reserve Mines, Agnes McNeil, Toronto; nephews, Wayne (Raylene), Brian (Jenna) and Michael, niece Laurissa and close friends. Billy was predeceased by his parents; brothers, Alex, Ronnie and Cecil. Cremation has taken place. Family flowers only.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, August 7, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. with Fr. Daniel Boudreau  officiating at T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay, (902-849-4199). Interment to follow in St. Eugene’s Cemetery. Reception to follow in the funeral home reception area.
