Centreville Baptist Church Deacons and Friends posted a condolence
Sunday, August 4, 2019
The Centreville Baptist Church Deacons and Church Friends express sincerest sympathy to the family and friends of Roy. We was an inspiration to our Bible Studies with his thought provoking comments. All in the church admired him for the care and dedication to his wife, Agnes, during her illness. Roy was serious when he needed to be and amusing when it was time to lighten the conversation up. He was a wonderful friend and a beautiful human being. We will miss him.

Dear Family,
We were friends of Roy through the Centreville Baptist church. We first met both he and Agnes at Rev. Marc and Janice Potvin's house in Centreville. After that time, we would joke with Roy and he would always have a great comeback. He was a person that you'd always want to talk to as he was kind and made you feel good even when he wasn't the best himself after his wife passed. We miss his friendliness and the sparkle of mischievous in his eyes. Heather and Doug MacLean

Dear Gail, Julie, Karen & Jodie
Sad to hear of your dad’s passing today - mom’s friend Iris brought it to my attention.
I’ll always remember Roy for his humour and that contagious laugh that he always managed to slip into the conversation.
Lots of happy times spent with your family over the years.
Love from Anne, Gary & family ( now 5 grandchildren).

I first met Roy when I became friends with his daughter Julie at Nova Scotia Agricultural College. He and Agnes were very welcoming when I visited their home and always interested in what was going on in my life. I will always remember Roy's great sense of humour. The two of us exchanged some good-natured teasing and I enjoyed hearing his laughter. Although I didn't see him as often in recent years, I was able to have a visit with him a few years ago and it was so good to reconnect. My partner Jen and I send our sincere condolences to the entire family.

Dad, you have been on my mind a lot these past years and I can't see that changing anytime soon.
You are missed but I know you lived to your fullest capacity and had no major regrets.
Your spiritual openness was infectious and I learned a lot from you.
You taught me well and I feel I passed these social skills on to my children, to the best of my ability.
We will all see you again don't know where don't know when but I know for a fact we will.
Love you forever, Karen Lee

Please accept our deepest sympathy. We missed Roy when we moved away, and even more so now that we can’t visit when we come home. As you know, Marc and Roy had a very special and deep friendship. They understood and accepted each other. I know one of the harder things for Marc when we moved away was no longer having their weekly ( and usually more often) visits.
Janice and Marc.
My parents, Dorothy and Gilbert Allen asked me to pass along their condolences too. I know Dad always really enjoyed chats with Roy.

I first met Roy working in the Centreville Park where he spent many hours clearing brush and mowing grass. I would stop in and have a chat with him when he lived on Sherman Belcher. I will miss him and his stories of the past.

We were saddened to hear of Roy's passing. He showed us all what a Grandparent could and should be. He certainly enriched a lot of us with his humor and caring ways. It was with sadness that I heard of Roys' passing. He was a good friend of my late husband, Reigh Kynock and myself. We had many laughs over 'the old times,' shared tears over the sadness and always had a handshake or hug for each other. My sincere sympathies and may you gain comfort in knowing that he had many friend who cared and supported him in his choices.
