Dear Audrey,
George was a wonderful person and was able to carry on intelligent conversations to the very end of his life. I loved being in his company because I learned so much from him on so many diverse subjects.
George joined the the Royal Canadian Air Force in 1945 and trained as a Pilot Officer flying the RCAF Harvard aircraft at RCAF Station Trenton, Ontario. George received his coveted "Wings" after flying graduation. A great feat in itself considering that about one recruit in 28 ultimately succeeds to Wings standard. His work on the famous RCAF AV Roe Arrow aircraft project in the 1950s is no less remarkable.
Audrey, you were "a tower in strength" to George and he was indeed fortunate to have a person of your calibre loving and caring for him.
Bless you both.
Your caring first cousin Xavier McGillivary
