It’s with heavy hearts we the family announce the passing of Peter Lever age 75 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital , Monday May 13,2019, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Cheticamp, he was the son of the late Simon Joe and Evelyne(Le Brun) Le Leivre. He was employed as a labourer for several years and a member of the labourer’s Union local 1115 and enjoyed working at the Lingan Golf And Country Club until his retirement.
Da was an excellent carpenter and an avid golfer, never one to shy away from a good round of golf with all his buddies and meet at the “19th water hole”. Da enjoyed friends and family stopping by telling stories and jokes and having lots of laughs. He loved to take his trips to his favorite place he called “home” Cheticamp Island.
Peter is survived by his loving wife of 56 years Lorraine(Snow) his children Irene(Tommy), Gerard(Cheryl), George(Ansley), Joey(Jan), Lisa, Allan, Shawn(Ashley) and his “buddy” Aces, and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. His brother Gerard(Helen) and his favorite sister Margaret(Kevin).
Besides his parents he was predeceased by his brother Russell and mother in law Myrtle Snow.
The family would like to thank Dr.Michael Gallivan, all his “angels” and doctors at the Dialysis Unit and Palliative care Unit and the Heart Function Clinic of the CBRH for all the care and compassion given to Peter during his illness.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held Sunday, May 19,2019 from 6-8 p.m. A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m Monday May, 20, 2019 with Fr. Daniel Boudreau officiating all taking place at T. J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay, NS (902-849-4199).
