Jaycee Riann Tracey
Glace Bay
On June 15, 2015 a magnificent gift came into this world. Her name was Jaycee Tracey. Jaycee was the precious daughter of Allison Kendall and Carter Tracey both of Glace Bay. Proud parents Carter and Allison shared this magnificent gift with family and friends. Jaycee was truly the brightest star in the night time sky. She shone with a brilliance rarely seen. Our hearts are broken in ten thousand pieces and the pieces can never be re-arranged to make us whole again. We also know that the joy this child brought to our daily lives in her mere four years will remain in every piece of our hearts forever. That joy took many forms. It came in Jaycee’s energy, her enthusiasm. In her laughter, kindness, gentleness, curiosity and wondrous imagination. That imagination would sweep you off your feet and take you to the most magical of places. To be welcomed into Jaycee’s world was an honor and a privilege. When she reached for your hand you had a friend for life and Jaycee was not going to let you forget that.
She was a member of D and R Dance School, and was excited for her upcoming and first dance recital. Jaycee played Timbits soccer and loved the cotton candy ice cream she got afterwards for each goal scored. From tutu’s to soccer cleats, our little tom boy with that mischievous grin was also our little princess. She would pick out a favourite purse; stuff it with make-up, lipstick and anything that sparkled. She would dress in bright colors (preferably pink), put on her fancy shoes and frilly dresses and dance around the house. She loved going for drives in her Barbie Escalade, with worms in one hand and the wheel in the other with her sissy by her side. Every rock had to be turned over. Every bug carefully examined. Every worm picked up. Things that crawled needed to be explored. She also loved pretty band-aids. If she had a boo-boo only a kiss and band-aid would make it better. If you had a “boo-boo” Jaycee would flash a look of concern and ask, “Does it hurt?” Yes, baby girl, it hurts. It’s a pain like no other. It hurts not hearing what you did in daycare, not seeing your latest moves from dance class, not enjoying your make-believe apple pie and fresh tea. It hurts not hearing you say “It’s morning time Mummy!” “Good morning Bubba! What does Jaycee Tracey want to do today?” It hurts that the little team has been broken up; that little sister Jaya has lost her best friend. Jaycee and Jaya had such a marvellous bond, and were like peanut butter and jam. Jaycee loved animals, especially her furry friends Harley and Maggie. It was a challenge getting Jaycee to eat; she had little time for breakfast. There was just too much to do, flowers to be picked, ducks to be fed, smiles to be brought to welcome faces.
Jaycee is survived by her loving parents, Allison Kendall and Carter Tracey; her baby sister and best friend, Jaya; who she sometimes lovingly referred to as the “wrecking ball.” She is also survived by her proud and loving grandparents, Carol Boutilier ‘Nana’, Ken and Lezlee Tracey ‘Nanny and Poppy’,Calvin Thomas ‘Poppy T’; favourite aunties, godmother Breagh Thomas (Andrew) and Laurinda Tracey (Liam) and baby Meabh; adoring great grandmothers, Gwen Boutilier ‘Grandma’ and Irene Moore ‘Nanny’; special cousin and best bud, Harper; adoring aunt Colleen (Uncle Jack) and their son, Matthew, (who she referred to as her big brother); and special uncle Cliff (Donna). She will always have a special place in the hearts of the many aunts, uncles, and cousins from the Tracey and Singleton family.
Jaycee was predeceased by her great grandparents, Trudy and Jigger Tracey ‘Ma Tracey and Papa’ Leonard Boutilier ‘Poppy’ and Ken Singleton ‘Poppy’.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held Friday, May 10, 2019 from 6-9 pm at T.J. Tracey Funeral Home, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay, NS (902-849-4199).
