Audrey Phyllis Dean, 77, of Bedford passed away Thursday, January 24th at Abbie Lane Hospital. She was battling dementia and succumbed to complications due to pneumonia. Born in Rorketon, Manitoba Audrey was the daughter of Les and Leena Wilson (Bzowy). Audrey owned and operated many retail businesses in HRM over the years including All Seasons Bed and Bath Boutiques, Special Touch Lingerie, and Hallmark Cards. Audrey enjoyed spending time near the water in Chester, and in Florida. She was devoted to her family, particularly her grandchildren. Spending time in the garden and golfing were a couple of Audrey’s favourite pastimes. Audrey was a graduate of Mount Saint Vincent University, Business Administration. She was also a licenced stocks and bonds trader, and took great pride in investing for her family. Audrey is survived by her loving husband, Gary Wilbert Dean of 58 years, son Clarence Daniel Dean (Dan), daughter Carolyn Mary Coutts (Carol), brothers Alan Wilson and Albert Wilson, sister Lorraine Wilson, grandchildren: Kyle Truen, Matthew Coutts and Michael Coutts, great-grandchild: Chloe Macdonald, as well as other extended family members. A memorial will be held for family only. Many thanks to the doctors and nurses at the QE2 Emergency Department including Dr. Kenneth Rockwood, as well as the palliative care nurses in the Geriatric Assessment Unit. The family would also like to express deep gratitude to the hard working personal care workers and the VON, as well as Audrey’s Family Physician, Dr. Ildi MacDonald.
