Obituary of Roy Melven Misener

Misener, Roy Melven (Dad, Pup, Papa) age 92 of Halifax passed away Wednesday, October 28, 2015, surrounded by his loving family in Arborstone Enhanced Care. Roy was born in Liscombe and grew up in Goldenville. He was a son of Rupert and Melissa (Langille) Misener. Roy owned his own carpentry business and was an avid hunter who enjoyed hunting trips with his wife and boys. He loved to take things apart which didn’t always go back together the same way he found them. He will be remembered for his contagious smile and big blue eyes. He is survived by his wife of 63 years Dorothy “Dot” (Carrigan) Misener; eight children Gloria d’Entremont (Alyre); Ronnie Misener (Cheryl), Wayne Misener (Pamela), Barbara Flemming (Jim), Paulette Wambolt (Stephen), Kathy Weagle (Kevin), Karen Pellerine (Peter), and Chris Henneberry; his sister Madeline Dempsey; 21 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Roy was predeceased by son Billy; brothers Russell, Lloyd, Gordon, Manford, Calvin, and Clarence; sisters Ruby, Helen Gladys, and Delilah. A graveside service will be held on Monday, November 2, 2015, at 1 p.m. in St. Emmanuel’s Cemetery on Sussex St. in Spryfield. A Celebration of Life will be held at 30 Katrina Crescent, Spryfield, following the service. The family would like to thank the staff at Arborstone Enhanced Care; especially, Trish for all their kind help. In lieu of flowers donations in Roy’s memory may be made to a charity of your choice.
