I was fortunate to have had Wanda as an elementary school teacher in the Torbrook School. She was such a lovely lady and I will not forget her. Her family were neighbors of mine (Cecil Uhlman) in Torbrook and we
got to know the family very well. I extend my sympathy to Wanda’s dear family as they grieve her passing.

Steve, sorry to read of your mother’s passing. I remember her as a kind, soft spoken lady. Always interested in listening, much more than speaking. The last time we met was at a senior’s group in Kingston. My wife and I put on a presentation about life in the United Arab Emirates. Afterwards, she came up to us to introduce herself, unnecessary as I already knew who she was. She asked many questions and made us feel that she really cared. To me, one of her best attributes was making everyone she interacted with feel important by listening and asking them questions. The focus was rarely on her. I don’t have a lot of memories of your mom, but the ones I do have are fond ones. May she Rest In Peace!

Wanda was a dear friend of mine when we lived in Kingston. We shared many activities through the church, but she was also my bridge partner for many years. We enjoyed playing bridge together and were practically unbeatable, winning lots of tournaments! She was kind and gentle and lived a good life. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Birdie Moores

Hey Joy and Steve… so sorry to hear of Aunt Wanda’s passing. My best memories of Nova Scotia and the times I travelled there (and there are only like thousands of incredible memories) are of staying at your mom and dad’s place, getting to hang out with them, and just being free to wander as a little kid can not really do in the big city. Auntie Wanda was so much fun, so kind, so welcoming and just such a wonderful aunt. Plus, she introduced my to fresh lobster when I was a kid, which for a prairie boy is like discovering ambrosia! Take care you guys, all my love and we shall talk soon. xoxoxo

Sorry to hear of your loved one’s passing, but the time comes for all of us, and she had a wonderful life, doing the things she enjoyed the most. The last time I saw your mom, was when she asked me to play the piano for a few minutes at Three Rivers Community Center. Yes, she sure loved to sing! She was also a very smart dresser!
If memory serves me correctly, we are related, as her mother was a sister to my late grandfather, Arlie Hatt. What a small world!
You are all in my thoughts and prayers,
Thomas Hatt

Mrs. Bezanson was a wonderful lady. I call her that as she was my chaperone when I was Princess Kingston for the 50th Apple Blossom Festival in 1982. I remember her fondly, and the many things she taught us then that I carry on in my life today. My sincere condolences on the loss of your Mom.

Your mother was a great lady. We knew her as a resident of Kingston and she once loaned a hat to our daughter when she served as Princess Kingston for the Apple Blossom Festival. What was most memorable about that visit was when she told us she used to date my father, Frank, when they were young and showed us a picture of them skating together. Fascinating tidbit of history. Please accept our sincere condolences. Karl and Muriel West
