Obituary of Audrey M. Shupe
Please share a memory of Audrey to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with sadness that the family of Audrey Margaret Shupe, age 92 of Halifax, announce her passing on November 5th, 2018, at Parkstone Enhanced Care.
Born in Halifax, she was the daughter of the late Stanley (Spud) Noonan and Ethel Mae Shubley.
Audrey was born, raised, and lived in Halifax, Nova Scotia. She began her working career at Northern Electric then married Frederick (Fred) Grant Shupe and started raising their family, so began Audrey’s life long love affair with children. It didn’t matter the age, race, or temperament of the child, they always captured her heart. This was evident in her 40+ years as a foster parent and we are sure there are children who remember her still. There is no denying Audrey’s love of her grandchildren and great grandchildren and the special bond they shared.
She will be lovingly remembered by sons David Shupe (Gladys Ascah), Stephen Shupe, and Jarrett Shaw; daughter Rebecca Brazzell; sister Barbara Wright; grandchildren Rachel Shupe, Aimee Shupe, Susan (Stephen) Slaunwhite, and Erin (Tom) O’Brien; and great grand children Olivia, Emily, Jack, Faith, and little Audrey.
Beside her parents, Audrey was predeceased by husband Frederick Grant Shupe, brother James Noonan, brother in law Robert Wright, and daughter in law Diane Shupe (Cowl).
Funeral arrangements have taken place under the care and direction of T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, Bedford. (902) 835-4212. We are honoring Audrey’s request for an intimate celebration of life with friends and family.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of your choice.
The family wishes to extend our gratitude to all the staff at Parkstone Enhanced Care, Northwood Home Care, and especially to Bev Redden and Charlene Starratt for their loving care and attentiveness.
