Obituary of Mona Barbara Welsford

1931-2016 Halifax Age 84, passed away peacefully at Northwood on Wednesday, January 13, 2016. Born in Stewiacke, she was a daughter of the late Elizabeth and Gilbert Levy. Mona was a 1954 graduate of the VG Hospital School of Nursing and pursued her career in Canada and the USA both before and after her marriage. She was a member of the Jean Rushton Women’s Missionary Society and The Friendship Circle. She is survived by her children, sons Kyle (Debbie) Welsford, Ian (Ruth) Welsford , both of California; daughter Marla (Wendell Refior) Massachusetts; her beloved grandchildren and greatgrandchildren: Jeff Welsford and sons Evan and Owen, Michigan; Lindsay (Omar) Martinez and children, Oliver, Lucia and Liliana; Ashley (Jeff) Wang and children Daphne and Calista; Acacia Welsford all of California; numerous nieces and nephews. Sisters: Shirley (Roy) Nicholson and Beryl MacKinnon; brothers: Ron Levy and Brian Levy. She was predeceased by her husband Charles Welsford, brother-in- law Rod MacKinnon, and sister-in-law Della Levy. No visitation by request. The memorial service will be held on Friday, January 22, 2016, 2:00 p.m. at Bedford Baptist Church, 158 Rocky Lake Drive, Bedford, Rev. Dr. Ida Whitehouse officiating. Family flowers only.
