Obituary of John Alexander Martin

1958-2016 Halifax John Alexander Martin, age 57 of Lower Sackville passed away January 16th 2016 at the VG with his wife by his side. Born in Sydney, Nova Scotia, he was the son of the late Catharina Rademaker and Murdock Martin. John was employed as a custodian with the HRSB, a job he took great pride in. He was a devoted husband and father who was fiercely proud of his kids. He loved spending his time trying to beat Alex at video games, watching TJ race Motocross, or enjoying Nikki’s concerts. In the summer you could always find him by the pool, cold Bud in hand, blasting his music. He will be forever missed by his wife of 28 years Marion (Holman), sons TJ and Alex, daughter Nikki, brothers Bill (Janice), Murdock (Merlene), favorite son in law to Janet (Holman) Mahar, special brother in law to Tom (Lynn) Holman, Jane (Jim) Stewart, Judy Holman, John (Kim) Holman, and Kathy (Todd) Normore, special neighbors and many friends, and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents and sister Betty. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Homeward Bound City Pound. A celebration of John’s life will take place on January 31st 2016 from 11-4pm at the Lion’s Den, 101 Old Beaver Bank Road, Lower Sackville. A special thanks to the doctors and nurses of 7A VG, Dr. Stephanie Snow and Lynn, and the nurses in the chemo unit. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to T. J.
