Obituary of James Charles Wright

1944-2016 Halifax James Charles Wright (Hap) Age 71, of Dartmouth, passed away on January 18th 2016 at the VG hospital in Halifax, with members of his family by his side. Born in Montreal, PQ, he was the son of the late James and Margaret (Charles) Wright. After graduating from Mount Allison University in 1965, he went on to work as a chartered accountant for almost 50 years. Throughout his profession, he made a lot of professional relationships that turned into family relationships, especially with Ocean Contractors and the Flemming and Fraser families. Hap was a hardworking and happy husband, father and grandfather who loved to spend time with his family. He also enjoyed summers at the cottage, Montreal sports teams, playing football (MTA 1961-1965), playing the tuba, sunshine and music. Hap was involved in numerous charities and boards, Junior Achievement being a personal favorite. Hap’s greatest characteristic was his ability to make people smile. He is survived by his loving wife and best friend Audrey (O’Brien) Wright, sister Susan Williams (Ontario). He was the cherished father of Bill (Montreal), and Bob (Halifax), Lynn (Cameron) Olscamp (Stratford, PEI). He was the loving grandfather of Ronan, Ethan, Zoe, Penny and Ramona. A funeral service for Hap will be held at All Saint’s Cathedral, 1330 Martello Street, Halifax on Saturday, January 23rd at 11:00 AM. Officiating the Very Reverend Paul Smith. A reception will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Children’s Wish Foundation. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to T. J.
