Obituary of Marie Irene Murphy

Age 83, passed away on February 20th 2016 in the Halifax Infirmary QEII. Born in Halifax, she was the daughter of the late George and Kathleen (Flemming) Todd. Marie was predeceased by her husband of 51 years in 2008, Donald Murphy. She is survived by her children, Paul, Halifax, Jeffrey (Shannon) Kamloops, BC, Danny, Halifax, and Anne (Simon), Galiano Island, BC. Grandchildren Earl, Floyd, Eva, Shea, London and Teague. Brothers Bill (Gwen), Bernie (Connie) and Pat (Arleen), sisters Lorraine, Anita (Milt) and Cathy. Marie graduated from Mount St Vincent University and taught for 26 years at Oxford School. She spent many wonderful summers in Hubbards where she was affectionately known as “ReRe”. Her funeral liturgy will be celebrated at Canadian Martyrs Church, 5900 Inglis St, Halifax, on Thursday February 25th at 11am, with reception following in the church hall.
